Just did the Garden City Turkey Trot as a workout. The plan was to do a classic TR workout 2-2-1. First two miles ate 6:20 pace, the second two miles at 6:10, and the last at 6 or better. Flew through the first mile successfully, slightly under but I was ok with that. Mile 2 was way under but I think that has to do with the fact i joined a pack of young guys. Mile 4 was slow but I have no idea what happened there.
I have to say this was much better experience than Long Beach. There were so many people out cheering. I think next year I will do Long Beach as a workout and do this as a race. Mostly because everyone is so supportive.
