I ran the race well, and was quite pleased.

I ran it on my own, and kinda of wish I had a pacer, but it's probably just as well I didn't. I may have tried too hard, and blown up during the race. I may be been able to push harder, but I don't know if it would have resulted in a faster time.

First thought- my turnover rocks. It helped me maintain good form and speed throughout the race, and I don't think it faded over the course of the race- I'm pretty sure it hovered right around 100 strides per minute.

Second, it really did help to have people on the course cheering me by name. I did get a psychological boost from it- enough so that I worried that I may have been pushing my body into oxygen debt.

Third- I probably should have lined up a little bit closer to the front. I had to weave quite a bit, and that was a bit frustrating. Of course, I was passed quite a bit in the beginning as well, so no one was all that clear on where to start.

No shin problems, no stomach issues, and I didn't blow up. So life is good! :)
