well, that went horribly!

I'd planned to try a mock-5K at 7:30 pace. A few months back I ran 2 miles in 15:30 (7:30/8:00 split), so this didn't seem too outrageous to expect.

But man oh man, my VO2 max must have plummeted since then. I ran one mile at 7:30 then felt like I was about to die, so I just stopped and called it quits. Man, I was pissed.

I guess, looking back on it: I was expecting to shave off 1:00/mi from the 5K time I ran just over a month ago. Put that way, I guess it makes sense why I crashed and burned. I think tomorrow I'll try a mock-5K at 8:00/mi pace. Let's hope that goes better...

(old note: tentative. Not sure how this weekend will go, with thanksgiving and all. i'm set to be traveling this day so doubt i'll want to run my mock 5k)
