Another beautiful fall day running outside in NY. This is going to happen less and less as it gets colder and I have only shorts and a t shirt. Even today, it was a tad chilly at the start, so I didn't wait for the Garmin to find the satellites and just went for it, hence the weird first mile being 11 minutes. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice as well, so I will probably do something similar.

I have no real plan right now. The only race I have scheduled is the Rutgers half in April. I guess I'd like to do a 5k at some point, but I'm not sure when. Maybe I'll do one in February or March as a lead up to the half, and make the half my 'A' race. In that case, I should just be building up my base through the winter and not doing as much speed.

I don't know anymore about doing an ultra in May. I don't think I could handle the training at this point in my life with work and everything. Probably not going to do any triathlons either since I have no where to swim. I'll just focus on running for a while. The key now is to get consistent miles in and keep slowly losing weight or maintaining so I can really get down to 155 for Rutgers.

You are kicking butt D! Keep up the solid work. Started off the week with another 5-miler and it looks like you are easily in the low 8's per mile everytime you run nowadays, and you are only giving 4/10 effort. Your fitness levels are improving everytime you run, keep pounding the pavement!

You'll definitely be in terrific shape for the Rutgers half at this rate. I'm a little unsure where to go from here as well - possible 5K in December, then not sure. Beginning to contemplate next fall... http://www.marinemarathon.com/

March 7th is the registration and this year it sold out in one day. If you decide to do it, I'm in too.
