Decided to train at 146 today. I think I got too excited and went a bit too fast. It sure felt nice to run a little faster today. I've gotten so used to running so slowly that this felt quick to me, even though my HR was relatively low. I think I will stay with this for a bit and maybe throw in one or two tempo runs next couple weeks so I don't come into this 25k having not run at all at any kind of higher intensity. This new thinking was brought on from me rereading my Jack Daniels book. One thing nice to see is based on my VDOT of ~47 (21 min 5k) He recommends an easy pace of 8:57, which is not far from what I've been doing with my very slow running. Since I'm increasing the pace a bit, I'm not going to increase my mileage as much and just go up to the low 40s over the next few weeks. Last thing I want now is injury.
