Well I got too worried about not knowing where I was at before Sunday so I thought maybe I'll run a mile at 7:40 pace at the end. Somehow that turned into a mile warm-up and then 4 miles starting at 7:43 and getting progressively faster. I felt ok but was pushing a bit too hard in the end. I kept trying to keep it controlled, but I don't think I could maintain this for a half right now, let alone 15.5. At this point with where my HR was on this run compared to other similar runs in the spring, I'm just not at the same fitness level which makes sense, since I am coming off a summer of such low volume. I think I'm going to start at 7:45 - 7:50 pace and see how I feel. I think this more conservative approach is definitely the way to go.
