Notes

Snowshoeing at College Rock, Vietnam.

First time on snowshoes. Obviously a little different, but it didn't take long to get used to them. Started off walking, then transitioned to running. Ran most of the time with some walk breaks mixed in. The snowshoes behave kind of like flip-flops when running. Very good traction going up hills - much better than Yaktrax. The snow wasn't very deep, about 4 inches, so I had to watch out for rocks, but overall I'd say it was pretty easy to navigate, probably even easier than normal trail running since the wide base provides so much stability. Good first time out. Looking forward to doing it again.
