After the 1500 I had a couple of hours to kill, so I cooled down, then laid down and read for a bit and with 20mins to go started warming up. This time I wanted to go out in 62-64 and hang on. Did a couple of 100m striders in 15-16 with plenty of rest as suggested in Daniels' book. Rested and rested and then lined up, decided to go out harder and not have too much left in the tank as I did in the 1500. Patrick Reaves showed up and stationed himself at the 200m mark to call splits. Unfortunately I raced like a high school boy, running 30, 62, 1:37 (35 sec 200), and 2:13.85 (36 sec 200). This is the worst positive split I've ever run, so I went from one extreme to the other.

Live and learn, at least I've got some experience and times to derive proper pacing for workouts until I get in better shape. Oh, well...
