Somewhat failed solo workout. Was vacillating on what combination of intervals to do, but I decided on 4x400, 1x800, 4x200. I was a little worried about remembering all of my splits as I wouldn't be able to use my phone next to the track due to the rain. I did a couple of strides and my legs just felt like they were moving slow. I couldn't make myself hurt as much because of the rain, but I couldn't seem to generate the power needed to run sub-4:40 pace. I was hoping to run controlled and hit 70s. Controlled produced a 73. I went harder on the next one and was still off of my goal. Maybe I just needed to get loosened up. But I was very worried about my foot. Even though it wasn't hurting I didn't really want to push it on a workout that wasn't going well. So I decided to hammer an 800 and call it a day. I definitely could've gone a bit faster on it, but I was expecting to crack 2:20 so that proved to me that this session needed to get cut short. I did so. Not too disappointed either. I had a feeling rain would screw up my speed sesh. It's no big deal though, just did a long cool down. Strongly considering doing a 1,600 time trial soon, and a 5k one soon after.
