Hot one today for October. Went to the fields in anticipation of the XC team, but they weren't there. So I went solo, planning for 6.5 or so. Expected to feel pretty bad, but didn't end up feeling terrible. Started off at 2:02 and stayed at that pace for a while. I felt so much better when I hit the baseball field for some reason. I went 7:21, 7:37, 7:29, 7:26, 7:13, 7:16, then 6:58 pace for the last .75 as I added on an extra lap. My last two laps were 1:50, 1:48ish. The XC team finally showed up to finish what I found out was an hour long run. I then did some strides with them, but they only do 8-10 seconds so it can be a pain. I did 6x about 20 seconds with one 8 second one thrown in. It's great to do them on the turf. Turnover feels pretty good. I've decided to push my first speed workout until next week even though I'm fired up as hell to do it. I will be doing 2x2 miles on the track with Josh on Wednesday of this week. Hoping to hit 35-36 miles this week.
