Notes

Great solo long run with Lindsay out as well. We hopped right out of the car after driving back from Cape Cod and headed out for a long run. I had been a little worried about my foot. But it felt okay on this run. I felt quite sluggish to start but quickly warmed up and felt good. I was 10:56 at the gate, 22:17 at the bridge, 28:46 at the 30 minute spot, and 35:27 at the old five mile gate. Got to the point that Willie and I turned around at last week in about 36:20 (2:10 faster than last week's 38:30). Turned around at 38:27 expecting a decent negative split and feeling good. Cruised back feeling good. It was a really nice evening and it was the first time in a long time I was actually enjoying myself during a long run. I believe I split under 26 from the 30 minute point, sub-20 from the bridge, and 9:00 or so back from the gate. I really wasn't hammering. I just cruised and was strong. Came back in 34:39. I finally feel like a runner again, rolling through long runs without strain. If I can recover, keep my foot healthy, and keep getting in speed sessions, I'll smash my PR. Good stuff coming, happy to hit my mileage target for the week despite some inconvenience.
