3x20 second strides to warm up. Felt really good to start this (I think the caffeine is really helpful, gonna keep with it in the future) and thought I'd keep it under control and hit 6:00 pace. But as always, I subconsciously pushed it. Hit the mile in 5:58, then 5:59. The second mile is usually slower, so I was surprised. It hurt, but not as bad as the race. I was shocked to see 5:47 for the next mile. I started to feel a little better right there, and finished with 5:44 pace for the last .71. Really happy with this tempo, though I should've gone a little bit slower. With a few more solid tempos and races under my belt I'm gonna be dropping time really quickly. Probably gonna start with VO2 max intervals next week. Did 3x20 second strides after this to get my 6 for the day.
