Awesome pool run session at Springfield. Thought all about my racing plans this winter and was very excited. The time seemed to fly by as opposed to the normally drudgery of the pool. I also felt great and pushed hard for a solid workout. I'm basically getting a 10 mile tempo in the pool done twice a week with where my effort is at. That's very exciting to me. HOWEVER, the worry of overtraining crossed my mind last night, and I'm going to be slightly more conservative. I had planned to do three sessions this week in addtion to 30 miles... essentially the equivalent of a 55-60 mile week. I'm going to back off that and stick with two sessions per week. And on weeks I have races I'll do one or zero. I really don't want to overtrain from pool running, something I do not really enjoy. Still though, I'm pumped to be getting fit and know I'll be crushing my PRs soon enough. If I can stay healthy.
