After the foot injury arose Wednesday morning I went into this race cautious but rested. Because I got stuck leading so many laps last year at this meet, I was determined not to lead. Rui and Joachim went out at between 72-75 so the pace was not as slow as last year and I was glad to see it. The splits bounced all over throughout the race. A couple Portland guys, Rui, Joa, Bailey, Ben Jarret, Alex Foote and I stayed together through 2 miles. The pace built during the last mile and the last 800m was 2:15 for me. Faster for the Portland guy that beat me. 2nd place and a new PR.
