Went out in 5:10 near the back of the pack then moved up by staying right on 77 pace. Ended up 7th. I did not take splits but a kid from NW Christian latched onto me after the first mile and his coaches kept telling him things like "stick to that guy" and "77s are perfect" and "Be patient, just stay with him, this is perfect for you". So I basically just towed this NWC guy around the track for 4 miles trying to drop down to something closer to 74 or 75 but just red lining at 77-78 per lap. Really would have loved this kid to take a pull but he was a college kid so I didn't say anything because he was out there for his school while I am a hobby runner. At any rate, he passes me with 1200 to go and gets me by like 20 seconds. BAC guys took off fast early. First 10k on the track. Pretty fun. I think I have more. Especially if I run one as something other than a rabbit.
