Rainy day in Portland. I was seeded 7th going in but due to some no-shows I ended up going out in the lead pack with some familiar faces including Griffiths, Schaeffer, and Rottich. Splits were all over the place on this tough, hilly course. One uphill mile was 5:42. The race broke up about mile 5 or 6 over the Hawthorne. At 15k the eventual 3rd place runner doubled over and cramped up. I thought he was done but he came roaring back to average 5:12 over the last 5k to take 3rd back from me. Probably equal to or better than PR time on a flat course. Good run. 4th overall.
