The 46th Zena Road Run was blessed with beautiful weather as usual. Great company for the trip with Josh, TK, and Larry. The course was tougher than I remember, as usual. First mile was 5:55 up the hill and I was a little faster for the second two but was hurting on the gravel section. Maybe out a little too quickly up the hill. During the downhill I tried to recover but keep my pace up as I knew Josh would be close behind me and I wanted to run a good time. The flat section to 6 was difficult but my pace seemed fine. At the Spring Valley corner I took a peek and saw that I only had about 1 minute on Josh. The uphill portion between 6-8 miles was very difficult. I was able to recover on the downhill and ran the last mile well. Got the win and new PR. Josh ran well too.
