David and I started with an intentionally slow pace of 10:00/mile for the first part and a goal of ratcheting the run pace down throughout for negative splits...basically our goal for this April 22 marathon (for which I am now signed up and committed). We were able to do this and finish somewhere around 9:00 and even into the mid-8:00s towards the end which felt good. Hip flexors were really tired but we were able to grind it out. Consumed one pint of Gatorade and a whole package of chews. Pretty steady 15mph wind out of the south. Dropped dogs off after first 11. Onward ho.
