Notes

Just about perfect weather. Stocking hat, gloves and a slow, easy pace. Figured I would take it a lot easier this week with a tough run last week. So 60-90sec per mile slower than what I predict will be marathon pace.

Saw Darren B on the way out, he yelled, "Quick 6 this morning". In Harper, I met a Sheriff with his lights on and then heard the siren as he headed toward Keota. No phone, no way of letting Jennifer know it wasn't me. Bad thing about a "smart" phone. Too delicate to bring on a run.

Some interesting pain yesterday at the Iowa game. Lower right side. Hope the kidney stone the other day wasn't just he tip of the iceberg. No problems at all today running. The only pain I felt was when I picked it back up to 8:30 pace on the final 3 miles and felt a little pain in my shin or calf. No big deal in anycase.

This felt very very easy today. I feel confident in getting under 4:00 for sure and the 8:30 pace may be conservative. At this point, I will still go out at the 8:30-35 pace and pick it up a little at the half way point and by mile 20 if I'm still feeling strong, I will definitely pick it up again for the final 10K. That's the initial plan for race day (Oct 21). Now to continue to train...
