Keota Track

Notes

Wore my new socks, headlamp, compression training shirt (and shorts), and the relatively new Gel Frantic 6 shoes. The top takes some getting used to, but it really has a good feel.

12 quarter mile intervals with jogging 2-2:30 in between:

.25 1:31 -6:10

.26 1:34 -6:10

.25 1:31 -6:09

.25 1:34 -6:14

.26 1:37 -6:15

.27 1:40 -6:17

.26 1:36 -6:17

.26 1:37 -6:11

.25 1:34 -6:10

.25 1:34 -6:12

.25 1:38 -6:25

.24 1:30 -6:18

Jogging/warm-ups/drill set all came to 5.21 miles. Each lap in between was a pretty slow tempo...

11:15, 11:36, 10:38, 10:37, 11:29, 11:17, 10:23, 11:40, 10:50, 10:40, 10:56, 13:53 (some walking).

My warm-up mile and cool down mile + were in the 8:56- 9:52 range.

All said and done, I think I should be able to do those faster than 1:30. Sounds like a bit much, but I didn't feel I was pushing it enough. By the end I was wondering if I should have done one more or 3 more to make it 15 of them. I think I saw the watch showing 6:0? or even 5:5? and thought "slow down". Maybe I need to be under 1:30 if I'm doing 400s.

nice having the headlamp, but noticed as I turned the west corner I run with my head up a little more than I thought and the light might be shining on some homes nearby. Careful.

Wouldn't worry too much about the head lamp. If it bothers the neighbors that much, they should just come out and enjoy you for some early morning exercise. Keep up the good work. Don't worry about the slow walk/jog between the intervals. The work is the intervals. The rest breaks needs to be just that....rest
