Fox Valley Half Marathon. Race went well....finished 2nd to the same guy who I ran with at River to River...once I saw him there I knew it was over. At the start, he took off sprinting, I hit the first mile at 6:00 and he was no where in sight. He went on to run 1:09:54 or something like that. Anyways for me, I felt in control 90% of the time. The last mile felt long. The course was flat and was run on the river path for an out and back. We had to cross a couple of bridges that were wet and on one of them I slipped and felt my hip flexor pull just a little bit...but did not want to stop. It went away after a few miles, but is sore now. I ran this whole thing by myself....3rd place was 1:18, so knowing that I can run 5:30 pace is a good thing for the marathon. Overall, I'm ok with my time...beat Enright by 1 second, but would have loved to break 1:12. Good confidence towards 10/10/10!
