Notes

Don't know how to feel about this. On the warm-up, my legs did not feel good at all. The long run yesterday didnt make my legs sore, but more took the zip out of them. As I jogged over to the start of the race...I knew I was in for trouble. 3 STC North kids who now run DI showed up. The gun went off and the 3 kids took off... I tried to go with them, but hit the mile in 5:10 and the legs were not having any part of that. By then, the gap was really big....4 way out in front and no one in back. Slowed down to 5:30 or so for the next 2 miles. I felt much better running that pace(I think my good 5k days are over...because I have NO speed). Ended up running 5:33 pace the hard way. Some things that I can take out of this: good speed training for the marathon...as I want to run 6 min pace, ok effort after running 15 miles the day before, and a big gut check as to where my weakness is. Lack of Speed!! Ended up taking 5th.
