Saints Challenge 5k. At the start of the race, there was this kid who looked like he was legit. I asked him what he was looking to run and he said around 16:10 to 16:30. Sounded good...I thought I could run with him for a while and then see where I was with about 1 mile to go. Turns out...after a 5:17 first mile, I was alone and in the lead by 24 sec. Ran 5:20 pace through 2 miles, then just took it easy the rest of the way. Really didn't want to trash my legs anymore then they felt...it was a good week of training and the 2 days before the race were fast, so ended up running 16:50 feeling good. Won by over a minute to the guy who said he was looking to run 16:10ish...he was really off today!!
