First real race in a long time. The start is up a hill, then evens out for the rest of the race. The gun went off, and I was near the front going up the hill, then when we reached the top 8 guys went by me like I was standing still. Went trhough the mile in 5:28 and was in no-mans-land...all by myself. Felt fine...legs and breathing seemed ok. Finished strong with some random guy outkicking me. Overall, it was ok. About a minute off of what I ran last year, but last year I was coming off a 2:41 marathon snd was in good shape. Winner went like 19:40 or so with 2 other guys under 20 minutes....I was 2nd last year in 21:36! Much faster this year! A big thanks to my wife who came out to cheer me on! The race may not have gone like I wanted it to, but I have to look at the over all picture. Happy Thanksgiving to all! I have a lot to be thankful for!
