Notes
Pretty happy about how I ran. My time isn't excellent (although I would not have been truly thrilled about anything over 5:00), but I am mainly thinking about how I ran my race.
I definitely took my first 800m out strong, which I'm really proud of. That's been one of my problems recently, especially in spring track. During my warm up I knew that I would have to be aggressive, and that's exactly how I ran. Up until last saturday (4/18), my season best in the 800m was 2:25, but today that was my split in the first half of the mile. I probably died out a little bit on the last lap (Cahill said he could tell I was slowing down), but I'm still happy that I ran strong. If I can work up my endurance now for that final kick, my times will start to drop a fair bit.
Splits:
400- 70
800- 2:25
1200- 3:46
1600 - 5:10.9
I even threw up after my race today! I know its a little weird that I'm somewhat happy about that, but I haven't actually thrown up since around when I broke 5:00 last year. For spring track in the mile, that shows that I ran hard. Although for the future, I don't need something that damaging just to prove to myself that I have courage.
