Was a beautiful morning for the race, till the race started and sun came out and it got hot fast. Was hoping for a PR because this is a good course for it (a few rollers and one steep hill in Pine Banks but otherwise flat), but went out a bit too fast I think and couldnt hold it.
7:18 for mile one - felt a little fast. Erin passed me around the half mile mark but I kept her within 10 yards for whole race.
7:30 for second mile - passed by Jenn Rappaport who won for women.
6:45 pace for last 1.1 mile. I was able to outkick Erin on Emerson street.
Took 2nd in Age group with a time of 20:13 which is really just where I thought I would end up today. Overall not bad but really want to hit 19 minutes next year. This is probably my last 5K for the year that I will race - if I do another it will be with Jay.
