Joel told me I needed to do some long runs on diff terrain than just flat so we headed out to Leif Erikson trail in Hillsboro. I was pretty nervous about doing 15 miles on this type of trail.

I noticed when we started it was downhill which I knew meant that my last mile back would be UPHILL. ugh. that was in the back of my mind the whole run.

It was march harder than my flat runs......and at about mile 8 I felt super tired. my legs were just dead...the hills were hard but I gave it my best effort.

with about 1.5 miles to go and mostly uphill I suddenly got a burst of energy! I have no idea where it came from but my legs felt so strong and I charged up the hills...it felt pretty incredible...I kept thinking to myself, I can runa marathon! I can do this...and I might even do it really well:):):)

So far this is my best pace for a long run..feels pretty good since it was hilly. Yay!!!!!

I am getting faster and soon can join the big girls for their long runs lol!!

sounds silly, but I will feel so happy when I can finally join the group for some of those banks of vernonia runs:):)
