RPE 5-6. 1500 drills. took it easy. plus 100m hard. Felt good to be back in the water or just to workout period. By keeping it easy I was able to keep the focus on form and drill and to help with my motivation. If I am not swimming in a group then I feel less likely to have to compete. It is ok to feel like I should keep the effort level up so that I do not foul up the swim set in a group swim. But not when I am trying to rest/recover plus trying to keep my motivation from falling. If I am swimming with masters and I am fatigued then I wil not swim as fast or efficient as I should. This in turn translates into frustration as I am begin to fall behind in a lane that I know I am fast enough to swim with. And this does nothing positive mentally during a period of time where I am the most vulnerable...
