Notes
It was 52 degrees when the race started, and Sherry and I had timed everything perfectly; we arrived in good time, managed to stretch and prep, stashed our bags and got to the starting point just a few minutes before the start. For me, the first 16 miles were pretty darn good. I was on pace to equal my PR of a couple of years ago.
But things went down hill. I started getting some foot pain, and then I started cramping. Miles 17 and 18 were rough, and though I managed to get some rhythm going, I never fully recovered. After arriving home, I found I had developed a quarter-sized blood blister on the bottom of my *right* foot. My guess is the Nike Streak shoes have worn out any cushioning, and this was the result. If it hadn't been for the first part of the race, I would have listed this as my worst quality run (and it's only second to my very first marathon in finishing time).
