I slept on a new mattress set up last night and woke up with a lot less discomfort! Still some residual chronic back pain, but I've lived with that for years. What I wasn't prepared for was the difference this would make in my running. I decided to do 5:2 intervals, so imagine my surprise when my first mile ticked off at 12:28. That included a two-minute walk break!
Of course, the penalty I pay for starting out too fast is that I run out of gas later on, and today was no different. I'm going to have to adjust my pace accordingly if this new mattress arrangement works out.
