Notes

Ouch. Dammit, that course is hard. Felt good through 16 or 17, was on pace through roughly 20, and then the wheels came off. I can definitely see some areas that will get some attention going forward, not the least among them is more mileage. But I also know that varied elevation and terrain is a must to build strength, I need to strengthen my core (especially hips and lower back), and do more long runs in the 17-20+ range.

The weather was warm, but that's only an excuse to mask that I wasn't quite trained up for the goal I'd set to achieve. And that's okay. It's very hard to learn without experiencing difficulties.

Special thanks to Norm for running with me from mile 6 on, and helping me through the good and bad. A great friend for a tough day. I can't wait to do it again next year.
