My original plan was an 8-mile progression, but I decided to cut it back a mile based strictly on my lack of longer mileage recently. It ended up being a good decision. Pretty happy about this, although the lack of a solid base was evident today. I felt good and smooth through about 5, but I had to focus on the last 2 miles. Not that the paces on those last two were bad, but I was breathing harder than I wanted to be. Oh well, I keep talking about it, but until I start getting in some better mileage and especially some consistent long runs I think I'm going to be stuck where I am.
