4 miles warmup then 4 miles sub-7:15. Damn, this run was hard. So much harder than I wanted it to be. I could tell during the warmup that I was tired, and I'm not sure if it was the humidity, but I just felt short of breath. After the first mile I wasn't sure I was going to be able to maintain the pace for 3 more miles, especially having to come back up the Belmont hill. Somehow I held on and recovered a bit, but after the 3rd mile split I wanted to stop really badly. I forced myself to just keep turning over, and recovered enough after the last climb on the way back to finish the 4. Frustrating to struggle at this pace, but I guess it's to be expected with my lackluster training the past couple of weeks. I'm sure the conditions didn't help either.
