Notes

Plan was 3x1 mile intervals w/2:00 rest between. I decided to cut the rest shorter for some reason. I actually mis-judged my first rest, thinking that one was 1:00 instead of 1:30 but I would have been ready to roll at 1:00 anyway.

This was a great workout. I wanted to do the first one around 6:30ish and then ratchet down from there. I didn't think the second one would be 6 flat, but I got rolling pretty quickly with it. The 1:00 rest between 2 and 3 felt crazy short, but I decided to just dig deep and see what I had for the final mile. I was hoping to be sub-6. That mile turned out to be the fastest that I have clocked on the Garmin which kind of surprised me. I was breathing hard at the end, but honestly, considering my lackluster summer, and the fact that I was running these on the flats of Centennial, I surprised myself with how good I felt. The cool weather definitely helped, too. This workout makes me feel like a sub-18 5k is not an unrealistic goal for the fall.
