3 mile warmup w/3x30s strides. 10x hill sprints on Murphy. 3 mile cooldown.
Hill sprints are funny. I know they are good for me, and in the grand scheme of the rest of my running it's such a small amount of time that I spend on them. But I often think about them with a great deal of disdain. There is something so unusually unenjoyable about 100% effort...up a hill. I'm used to hurting, but it's a different kind of hurt. It comes on you like a freight train and attacks all parts of you - both your muscles and your aerobic system - to where sometimes you want to just curl up on the ground and call your mommy. What? Just me? Ok, cool. I guess they aren't that bad. Anyhoo, I did 10 of them and really only felt a little bit of form breakdown on the last one. Was feeling a little twinge under my right glute after the first one or two, but that seemed to dissipate as I got further into the group.
