Thought was to start slow and accelerate. Instead, started slow and got slower. Not a good race. Watch time 24:12; official time 24:49. Walked at 2-mile water stop, and I was done. Couple of walking breaks in; not a good day, but a learning experience. I think running 6.5 and then digging out roots and stjumps and whatever in the garden-to-be in front of my condo for several hours Saturday took a lot out of me, and I need to start understanding that lifestyle and rest and nutrition aren't independent of race performance. So it was add-on race and not great, but no big deal, and in fact, a year ago, I would have been thrilled with it....But a learning curve....
