Notes

Given that I had felt so great last week on my 12 miler (ended up being 12.5) I turned my 14 mile run into 15...I was hesitant, again fearing injury and knowing that my tendon has been tight and tender, but I took plenty of breaks for stretching and paid attention to how my body was feeling during the run. Ended up being great, although I didn't finish in quite as glorious a mood as the end of my 12.5 (maybe the heat? maybe the extra 2.5 miles?) but either way, I wasn't dead or hurt or exhausted, so it's a win in my book! Plus, it puts me "ahead" in my training plan that I'm supposed to be "behind" in...that's a plus!

Only thing that is worrying me right now is my absolute LACK of intermediate runs. I haven't done a single short or medium run in between my longs for the last couple weeks and that is not okay. I need to take the short runs more seriously and incorporate cross training, weight lifting or sit ups or something.

But my training is never perfect. Something is always off, or missing, or incomplete. Because I'm a real person, I guess. I have other things to do, and I get tired and I get lazy. Ha. Maybe someday, I'll have the perfect marathon training under my belt before a race, just maybe.
