Notes
What a hell of a run....it was WINDY out. The temperature was comfortable, but I almost would have rather it been 10 degrees hotter with no wind then the 70 with wind.
For about 6-7 miles on the Cambridge side of the river, I was fighting STRONG winds. There were canal-force winds. I've never run in windier conditions in Boston. And it got me thinking...crap! Chicago is the "Windy City". Uh oh.
I can only hope it is NOT windy because my poor little legs were shaking around mile 10-11....I was freaking. I was much more tired after this run than normal and my legs were sore for much longer than usual. I only went 1 mile on top my last long run, which was 20 even...and I felt far better after my 20 than this 21...you can't tell me ONE mile put me over the edge.
On another note. as my training log reflects, I have been very naughty when it comes to filler runs...the ones I should be doing at least 3 times a week...are happening once or twice if I'm lucky....
It's been a rough month. A lot of issues with friends and family (2 deaths) and beginning flu clinics (puts me into work 4 hours earlier or keeps me 4 hours later).
Excuses, excuses. But excuses aren't merely excuses, they're unavoidable facts of life.
I'm trying my best. My tendon feels good. And I know I'll at least finish in Chicago.
Hmm...the 10:25 pace MIGHT have had something to do with my legs being sore...hello!
