Notes
I knew i wanted to do either some form of speedwork or tempo work coming into the workout. So i decided during the warmup to do mile repeats. I had no idea of how fast i could maintain for 3 repeats w/a short recovery(quarter mile). I did some short 200 meter strideouts to get a feel for what i could shoot for and in the LR i was not able to hold the pace i was shooting for. I really wanted low 7 min pace or maybe sub7. I did a 2.50 mile WU with strides included:(8:03 and 7:41)and .50(3:27 or 6:54 avg). Mile repeats splits:7:05,7:13,and 7:24. The recovery periods ranged between 2:41 and about 3 minutes on the 2nd recovery period. The 2nd recovery was accidentally deleted somehow but i remember the time because i remembered it was'nt long enough going into the last repeat. Overall i ran the workout at a hard effort, but i was really disappointed with the splits and really frustrated with the huge gaps in the pace trending slower and slower instead of the cutdowns. I knew the workout would b tough solo and the fact that i have'nt run mile repeats for speedwork in several years, but at least it's a baseline and a good starting point. Cooldown for 1 mile(9:29)
