Notes

I got over to UC late after getting some of Caleb's medicine at Memorial. I was itching to get a running when i parked the car, but i had to use the bathroom b4 starting out. I did some light and quick drills on the parking lot to get my legs ready to go. Then started into the run just gliding along, then i noticed at about .75 that i was running a 7:35 pace and i thought Wow! this feels pretty good, so i decided just to go with it and c what happened. I was thinking about doing an easy recovery run for the 2nd day and tempo tomorrow, but this was too good to pass up. That 1st mile effort managed to stay in that pace zone and even a little faster on a few of the miles all the way through to the 8th mile where i decided i had better stop so i did'nt overdo it this close to the marathon. I thought to myself as i stretched a little b4 doing my 2 mile CD that only those 2 or 3 miles where i picked the pace up just to c where the limit was of what was manageable and what was pushing the pace, those miles in and around the 7:35 to 7:37 pace felt really smooth and effortless, like something i could manage for several miles if everything was going good on race day, and the miles that were down in the 7:30 and sub 7:30 pace felt more manageable today, than they did this time last week. So i started into my cooldown just enjoying this workout and thinking that this is what peaking must feel like 12 days out from the marathon, then look down just to c what pace i was running on the cooldown after having this workout and to my surprise it was right at 8:00 pace and i thought i really need to slow this cooldown down some more, which i did as i heard the 9th mile beep and that mile was 8:02, then i thought 1 more mile CD and i would b done. I just settled in and enjoyed the weather as i got closer to UC with a little less than a quarter mile to go and to my surprise i was running at a 7:35 pace and i was'nt even trying to run that fast. So the 10th mile beeped and i stopped then stopped the watch and said that's enough for tonight and i walked about a half mile back to the car, in a state of shock and disbelief at the splits i had just runned in this 10 mile run. Everything just clicked tonight from the weather, the effort, the drivers, and everything else. Splits for this run:7:37,7:34,7:37,7:28,7:38,7:30,7:33,7:36,8:02,and 7:35.
