Notes

I wanted to run outdoors this evening for the acclimating to the heat, but priorities shifted when i had to stay home with Caleb today because he's still not over the hand, foot, mouth disease from daycare, and after seeing the P.A. today he may have another virus on top of the other. So i got home this evening and just decided to get an easy 7 to 9 miles when i started. I tried a different racing/training flat w/my foot pod to find another speed trainer/racer with my nike zoom air streak, and it felt really good and encouraged good turnover and a quicker cadence, ideal for fast running! I don't know if the pace was consistently accurate w/the other one i was using at faster speeds but it was pretty close at my normal running speeds w/the inclines alternating from 0 to 3% just to mix it up some. The stride opened up after switching from 3 to 1% so i decided to try some faster clips to c how they felt, and i liked what i felt!Around mile 5 or so i jumped into some quarters starting at 8mph at 1% incline and picked them up to 8.2 on occassions and 8.4 on one repeat w/a slow quarter recovery(2min to 2:16) Splits for the quarters:1:38,1:38,1:32,1:39,and 1:33. Splits for the run:8:12,8:00,7:38,7:32(the last .25 in 1:38 for 1st repeat).25 recoveries:1:59,2:02,2:14,2:16; 2 mile CD(7:58 and 7:35). Really pleased with the run. Definitely more quality than i would have got running outside tonight. Even if the paces were off slightly the faster turnover was there and helped with getting more ready to run faster paces at easy efforts.
