Notes

I was debating on doing some form of speedwork tonight, but once i met up with the group nobody else was doing any speedwork and i did'nt really want to run solo tonight, so i went along with the group for some hill work going up Carriage Trail and then W.K. threw out the option to go on up into South Hills on the City View Route to get some additional hill work, and at that point my knee was'nt bothering me so i thought maybe the hill work would b a better alternative to give my knee a rest from more fast running, so i went along, and it helped to have Scooter(Bridget) and The Jester(Jessie) to keep the effort honest and rolling which was what i was looking for tonight. So it was a good solid effort in the hills then i split off by myself going back down the trail because i was going to add on to get 10 miles at least and i knew i was going to have to get the run done so i could get home. The pace got a rolling down the trail and i just kept the pace and turnover a rolling down the bridge and all the way up the blvd. The weather was ideal on the way back to UC. I would pick the pace up in bursts going up the blvd. I was'nt even paying attention to how fast or how far, just pick it up to a moderate hard effort but well within check at the same time. I found it interesting that miles 6-10 with the exception of mile 9(going up the spiral bridge and across) was right at my BQ marathon pace. Some miles faster than but the slowest mile in that stretch was the bridge and one mile in 7:35(my BQ pace is 7:27) and the pace felt fairly manageable for the tail end of a hard run, so that helped to put my training in perspective. The knee was bothering me a little at the end, but better than it has been the last couple of weeks. Overall pleased with the run. Splits for the run:8:16,8:14,9:02,8:33,7:43,7:17,7:25,7:30,7:40,and 7:35.
