Geez, my HR bears out how i felt on this. The first mile I felt like I was working hard -- but I usually feel pretty crappy the first mile (I call it my "angry and bitter first mile". Second mile i felt ok, but then i felt pretty tired and shaky the 3rd and 4th, despite the easy pace --- and no wonder. I'm sure it's just me coming back from being sick. My mouth was all sand-papery too the last half -- probably still dehydrated. But ... i got it done.
