Notes

This played out a little different than planned, but overall pretty happy with my results. This was mostly a workout, but definitely a solid hard effort too (as evidenced by my very high HR!). Was planning on shooting for 9:00s for first 10k, then whatever I had left in the last 3.

I hit my paces for the most part in the first 3 miles in the River Bottoms, but I didn't feel great. I was breathing a lot harder than I felt like I shouldve for that pace and wasnt sure if I'd be able to maintain it. I got to the top of the hill at the end of mile 3 (which wasnt nearly as bad as I feared) -- and all of a sudden the air was 10x less muggy and I could breathe! And I started running a lot faster, but yet breathing a lot less hard!

At mile 6, we went back down the hill, back into the River Bottoms -- and the mugginess crept in. It was pretty much all I could do to hang on, I was wheezing so bad. It felt like I could only breathe about halfway what I normally do. I was wheezing so bad at the finish line, Rob had to run and get my inhaler from the car quick (I used my inhaler before the race, but it wasnt enough apparently).

Anyways -- I'm pretty happy about my time and overall paces, just ended up in a different order than planned. I think I was 4th in my age group and it was a PR for my 10k, within the race (of course, my 10k is kinda slow).
