Sectionals Meet 3200m Heat 1 - My quads and hip flexors felt really tight at the beginning of the warm-up so I stretched a lot longer during the warm-up. I felt really loose at the start line. I got out well for the first couple laps and came in at 5:03 for the first mile. I really slowed down from there until lap 8. I kicked hard with 100m to go and just passed Turner on the last meter (difference was .067 seconds). I think his hip was bothering him. I finished in 7th place of 15 which was better than I was seeded (8th). I didn't PR but this was way better than I've run the last couple weeks. Coach was glad that I got out faster, kicked harder, and improved. I just really need to work on laps 5 through 7. Splits were as follows: 1:10.150 (1:10.150) 2:25.328 (1:15.178) 3:43.869 (1:18.542) 5:04.529 (1:20.660) 6:26.885 (1:22.357) 7:51.004 (1:24.119) 9:16.640 (1:25.637) 10:34.044 (1:17.404). My season is over but I have time trials and magnificent miles to look forward to. I plateaued for a while, but I think I'm on my way back up.
