"Go do elliptical until I come get you," said coach Milner, displeased by the profusion of injuries which plagued his otherwise invincible running squad. The afflicted athletes retreated to the fitness room, where they would commence a seemingly perpetual elliptical session. Although some surrendered early to the inexorable monotony, others ventured past 90, or even 120 minutes. Many conjectured that coach had forgotten to return, but this was not confirmed until the clash of a barbell drop reverberated through the building. Only then, could the runners acknowledge the reality that they had been abandoned.
