3 x 2K relay organized by USATFNE, sweet! I ran the lead leg followed by Dave then Ryan. The race went out a little slowly with Cole Townsend and Scott Mindel leading so I stayed right on them up the wilderness hill. They started really moving on the downhill and I couldn't quite hang but started pushing harder once we were back on the main loop. I was pretty happy to catch Scott a few meters before the finish line but as I finished I realized he was running the entire relay himself. This is pretty funny in retrospect. My watch had my first mile at 5:37 which feels about right considering how easy the beginning felt, and the final 0.32 at 4:41 pace which also seems about right. In retrospect maybe I should have started faster? But at the time I was just trying to hang with the lead. If anything I should have responded more when they took off.
