Plan was 12-15x300m, quick pace but nothing crazy, so roughly 54 and I'd see how it went. Effort and not pace was the priority so I wasn't looking at my watch much, plus part of each interval was in lane 2 because of the snow. Started getting a bit tougher around interval 8 or 9, but i was able to focus a little and still hit similar times. Would have done 1-2 more but I ended up chatting with this guy named Dan who told me he is still able to run around 19 minutes for 5k at age 61, and that he is hoping to get under 18 and compete at national xc. We talked for about 5 minutes and he apologized for holding me up, but I wasn't worried. I figured it had been a good workout and I would just call it rather than run another 300 or two on stiff legs after standing around. Good workout today, and hopefully this is a decent step toward being quickish again.
