Run it Again, for the First Time!

Welcome to Runnin' The Rails, formerly 'The Great Train Race', held by the Ypsilanti Area Jaycees in conjunction with the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival.

This is a 5K run/walk, a 10K running race, and new in 2010, a 1/2 mi Kids Fun Run.

The race takes place in the City of Ypsilanti, MI and runs through Depot Town and the countryside of surrounding Ypsilanti. You will start off by "racing the train", following Huron River Dr., and then be led into beautiful Superior Township and the countryside surrounding Ypsilanti, ending in historic Depot Town.

Awards will be given to the Overall Male and Female race winners and runners-up, the oldest and youngest finisher in each race, and age group awards given as follows:

4 and under, 5-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-60, 60-69, 70+

Registration includes a race t-shirt. However, t-shirts are not guaranteed with late registration.

Also, to ensure proper registration, you can only add one runner-walker at a time.

On-site registration will be available on the morning of the race, and at the Ypsilanti Jaycees tent at the Heritage Festival.
