Notes

While we were warming up it was close to 90 degrees out (in traditional Elmhurst fashion) but once it got closer to race time the weather came in and it cooled down significantly. Once we got in the box the starter gave us the weather speech and sent us on our way pretty quickly. I didn't want to get caught up in the blitz to the mile mark so I tried to stay conservative and find somebody to run with. Passed flip in the first quarter mile and was working my way towards schroeder. He pulled ahead of me on the hill but I kept an eye on him and tried working my way up. After the bridge I found ryan and packed up with him. This is when the weather really rolled in, We got around the pond and a little past the mile mark when they called the race. Aside from the cancellation this race was full of positives. Started off about ten seconds faster then I wanted and still felt comfortable, was able to control my breathing, and I didn't realize it until I started typing this but Ryan and I were passing guys like it was nothing. Also, after talking to guys on the bus it sounded like we had all found each other and packed up really well after the start. Too bad we didn't finish this, I think we would've surprised ourselves.
